Bobby Green was originally slated to face Dan Hooker in this weekend’s UFC Austin co-main event, but Hooker was forced out of the fight after suffering a broken arm during training. Jalin Turner replaced Hooker at short notice.
“Out of all the guys that raised their hand (to step in) he (Turner) wasn’t one of them,” Green said on the DC & RC show. “I was not expecting him.” I thought I would get all the guys who asked for it, but I will take whomever they give me.”
Green was prepared for Hooker and isn’t concerned about the switch in opponents. As they say, a fight is a fight.
“I don’t really pay much attention to that.” What if I met you in your backyard? What if I ran into you in the club? Green said, “We’ve got to fight. More than how you’re going to prepare, you should just treat it as a fight. It’s going play out the way it will.”
Green is experiencing a revival. With his back against the wall, he’s won his last two fights, including knocking out Grant Dawson in 33 seconds in his last outing. Green suddenly has the crowd behind him.
“It is just real. You’re in it.
