Off the back of her dominant UFC Austin victory last night, former undisputed bantamweight champion, Miesha Tate has been pegged to rekindle her rivalry with two-time foe, inaugural divisional titleholder, Ronda Rousey at a return at UFC 300 next year – with fans claiming a third bout between the two would be ideal for the April card.
Tate is the number twelve ranked bantamweight fighter. He returned to the Octagon as the feature preliminary of UFC Austin in Texas overnight. Tate won by rear-naked choking in the third round over Julia Avila. This ended her two-fight losing run.
Tate’s win was her first via a finish since she won the undisputed bantamweight championship from Holly Holm at UFC 196, in the main event, back in 2016. Tate rallied to snatch it with a 5th round rear-naked choking.
Miesha Tate is being urged by some to take on Ronda Ronda at UFC 300
In the immediate aftermath of the fight, Washington’s veteran fighter was linked to a rematch with the Albuquerque native in April next year at UFC 300. However, fans and pundits suggested that a three-fight series between Rousey and Tate would be perfect for this monumental event.
