Mark Coleman was sedated for two days in the hospital, being treated for smoke-inhalation. He had saved his parents’ home from fire. “Hammer”, awoke Thursday morning and related the story.
In the video, Coleman embraces Morgan and Kenzie as he recounts, with emotion, what happened just before he had to be airlifted in a critical condition to a Toledo-area hospital.
“I’m the happiest man in the world,” Coleman said in the video. “Sweet God, I’m so lucky. I can’t believe my parents are alive. They shouldn’t even be here. Wes, you had to make a choice. I was in a terrible situation when I went out of my bedroom and to the door. I couldn’t breathe. I was almost forced to leave the house, but I returned and grabbed them. I can’t believe I got them but I couldn’t find Hammer” (the dog).
