MMA’s infamous ‘Drake Curse‘ has struck again.
With UFC 297 emanating from his hometown of Toronto, Canada, it’s no surprise that the Grammy Award winner dropped another massive bet on the night’s biggest fight. Via his social media channelsDrake revealed that to keep his title in The Great White North, he had spent $700k for the defending champion Sean Strickland.
Dricus DuPlessis, the victor of 25 minutes of entertaining action, was declared as the winner by split decision. Drake suffered yet another crushing defeat. Of course, it hasn’t been all bad for the singer/songwriter. ‘Drizzy’ made a whopping $1.38 million after wagering $1 million on Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis to defeat Ryan Garcia last year. He won over $2.7million after betting on Adesanya to not only win back his UFC 281 defeat by Pereira, but also that he will do it with a knockout during their UFC 287 match.
He lost $500k on Israel Adesanya, who KO’d Sean Strickland in their UFC 293 fight in September. Drake, however, is not playing house according to our calculations.
